Description: The church of St. Volodymyr, seen behind earlier ruins, was erected in the 1880s on the spot where in 988 Prince Volodymyr is said to have been baptized, bringing Christianity to the Kievan Rus. The original church was destroyed during World War II; the present structure is a replica built between 1998 and 2004.
